Dr. Kerry Barlow N.D. is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM), a fully accredited naturopathic medical school in Toronto, Ontario. Prior to CCNM, Kerry earned a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Nutrition and Nutraceutical Sciences from the University of Guelph. During her time at CCNM, she had the opportunity to provide complementary naturopathic services at LAMP Community Health Centre in South Etobicoke. LAMP is a charitable organization whose goal is to provide services to the community to improve physical, emotional, social and economic well being to those in need. In addition she traveled to British Columbia to do an externship with Dr. Sciortino N.D. at the West Vancouver Wellness Centre.
Kerry is licensed with the Board of Directors of Drugless Therapy - Naturopathy (the naturopathic regulatory board in Ontario), where she also volunteers her time on the Standards Review Committee. She is also a member the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND) and the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND).
In 2006, Kerry established the integrative health division within the Harbourfront Health and Wellness Centre (now the Harbourfront Medical Clinic) where she maintains a strong interest in holistic healthcare and treats patients along side an integrative team of medical experts. More recently she has joined the Kingsway Naturopathic Medical Clinic in Etobicoke and is very excited to have the opportunity to give back to the community where she was born and raised. Here she has partnered with Nadia Arnone N.D to help optimize the health of the Kingsway Village community.
In addition to practicing naturopathic medicine, Kerry also enjoys working with the student population at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as an instructor of botanical medicine and teaching assistant for emergency medicine.
Kerry is also a joint author on the newly published textbook “The Principles and Practice of Naturopathic Botanical Medicine” which now serves as a core textbook for all students going through the program at The CCNM.
Kerry practices with a patient-focused approach where listening to and understanding her patients are her top priorities. She is passionate and committed to educating her patients such that they become an active participant in their own health care. She always strives to address the root cause of imbalances in health by integrating scientific research with holistic healing methods. Kerry is a general practitioner who is enthusiastic about sharing and applying naturopathic principles with her patients, however she has a special interest in working with nutrition, diet and digestive health as it pertains to illness and/or optimal health. |
